Margaret Fisher is coming to our beautiful Chincoteague Island, VA, the perfect location to do some serious knitting and squeeze in a visit to the Assateague Wildlife Preserve (catch a glimpse of the legendary Chincoteague ponies) and the weekend wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Carodan Farm Wool Shop.
We are delighted to have Margaret presenting the following four workshops.
- Seven things that can 'Make or Break" a Sweater - The smallest details can have a huge impact in the appearance of your sweaters. Learn about these seven while you practice and receive lots of tips and hints.
- Superb Seams - Focus on one of the most important finishing steps, the seams. Master the basics, the invisible, as well as joining shoulders, attaching sleeves. Make your garments look seamless with these techniques.
- Buttonholes and Bands - Learn how to pick up stitches correctly, how to make buttonholes.
- The Long and Short Knitting Alterations - Learn how to fix the common fit problems "after the fact." Lengthening or shortening body and sleeves. Strategies to avoid the necessity of all this.

The first two workshops will be presented on Saturday followed by the last two on Sunday. Each workshop is 3 hours long and will be accompanied by handouts from the instructor. In order for you to get the most out of the workshops, you should complete the homework indicated for each.
Weekend Itinerary

The cost for the weekend of workshops is $145.00 which includes Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday workshops. Please make your lodging reservation directly with the Comfort Inn & Suites. If you need to cancel your registration, a refund less administrative costs of $25, will be granted until March 1st. No refunds will be granted after that date. ***Please note that we normally have a waiting list for our retreats. If you discover, even after March 1st, that you cannot come to the event, please let us know. If we can fill your spot, we will refund your registration fee as above.**

Lodging: The workshops will be held in the conference room of the Chincoteague Comfort Suites on the Island. The conference room is comfortable and spacious. Mention that you are with the Knitting Retreat when you register for lodging.
Meals: Many of the restaurants on the Island close for the winter and don’t reopen on regular schedule until April. We know that you will be traveling Friday afternoon, so are offering, as we have for our other retreats, to obtain soup and/or sandwich for you for dinner from Sea Star restaurant on the Island. We will order a variety of sandwiches and soups for you to choose from. Please register below if you would like this provided.
(Sales Tax is included in the price you see.) If you have a special request, such as vegetarian sandwich or soup, please indicate on your order form in the comments box provided there. For your convenience, we will also order lunch on Saturday.
Would you like to have dinner together at a local restaurant Saturday night? Please indicate below if you are interested so we can reserve seating. (The entrees are around $20 and are not included in your registration fee.)
