Fancy Scarf

Lucy Neatby designed this simple slip-stitch scarf which is knitted sideways. It is just perfect for using fanciful (read: expensive) yarns most economically. This scarf features two elegant but different sides, one featuring decorative horizontal flots of yarn, the other, vertical columns of color. The yarns alternately work, then skip in front of groups of two stitches. The floats of yarn allow fluffy or exotic yarns to strut their stuff to the max. Allow 90 yds worsted wt yarn of each color for a short scarf (35" long) and 180 yds of each for medium length scarf (60" long.)
