It is dyed to create a slow, subtle color change as you knit in the round. (Similar to the Mini Moochi yarn that is incredibly popular and sold out until mid-summer by the way.) This yarn makes gorgeous socks as well as beautiful scarves.

Fiber blend is 75% wool, 25% nylon.

Gauge is 6.75-8sts/in on size 1-3 needles.
