KnitXperience, A Knitters Retreat
Our KnitXperience Retreat is fast approaching. We are looking forward to having Melissa Weaver Dunning perform her celtic music and conduct the workshops on Saturday.
We have had a recent addition to the weekend which knitters will definitely enjoy. Debbie Roberts, who is a certified massage therapist, will be offering chair massage to knitters after lunch on Saturday. After a grueling morning knitting (only kidding), a massage is just what we’ll need. More likely, we will need to take a jog around the lodge to get us going again after the lunch they serve. Hope you are as excited about the weekend as we are!

The trees will have turned, the fire in the huge fireplace will be kept roaring, the homemade cookies will keep appearing, the air will be crisp and we will be knitting away. Did I mention the cookies??
Bring your projects to show off!

I am SOOOO looking forward to the weekend!
I enjoyed the KR retreats for the few years it was held at Graves Mtn Lodge. A great experience. It was so nice to wander from one rocking chair to another with my knitting
Looking foward to meeting everyone.

This is my first knitting retreat. I am really looking forward to it. My daughter is in school in Charlottesville, so thought I would kill two birds with one stone and get in a visit with her.

Looking forward to the weekend! This is my first knitting retreat as well. I look forward to meeting new people and learning new techniques (although I’m a pretty new knitting so I’m always learning new techniques).

I am really looking forward to the retreat, and meeting some new knitting friends and learning some new knitting techniques. I have attended other knitting retreats and have enjoyed them tremendously but, this is my first time in this part of the east.

I would LOVE to attend, but the family budget couldn’t get much tighter. All these comments are making me extremely envious. Bad Caroline for planning such an enticing weekend! Seriously, I hope you all enjoy it (how could you not?) and maybe next year I can make it!

I, too, am looking forward to this retreat, for the music almost as much as the knitting! I especially welcome the chance to come back to Graves Lodge.
I attended a couple of KR retreats at Graves, have been fly fishing the Rapidan, Rose & Robinson Rivers for 40 years, & sepnt my honeymoon there many years ago!

Registration is now closed. We have 26 registered which includes one non-knitting spouse. He will keep the wood supply handy for the fireplace, right? We are as excited as you are about this weekend. We’ll be sending the materials list out next week. Take care!

Is there a site where we can preview Melissa’s music?

Well, I’m excited, too! My husband & I spent our honeymoon at Graves 26 years ago - we love to go back, it’s such a special place. So combining knitting with Graves is perfect.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all and sharing fun stuff.
I do not have a website, although I do have a much neglected blog - http://www.melissaweaves.blogspot.com. While I was a visiting artist at Penland last year, one of the weaving students recorded a podcast of the waulking we had and there’s lots of my singing on that program. You can find it here: http://metaphysicalweaving.net/?feed=rss2 or on iTunes as Dr. Robinson’s Metaphysical Weaving.

Has the material list gone out yet? I noticed a post dated October 10th said it would go out next week it is almost 2 weeks later and I have not received it. Just want to make sure it was not lost in the mail somewhere.

Sorry for the delay in sending the materials list. Dan and I took a quick weekend away after the NY Sheep & Wool Festival. Promise to send it out later today. Thanks!
