Knitting Designs are Everywhere

Eatting lunch on our front porch and happened to look closely at the elephant ear plant that had been growing there all summer. The beautiful leaves had these interesting patterns in them and what appeared to be 2 rows of garter stitch edging. What fun.

Our frogs have gone bonkers in numbers and types this summer around our garden pond. We have bull frogs, green frogs, leopard and now this one. Anyone know what it is? Beautiful two stripes of neon gold up the back and to stand out on the back of the eyes meant to startle predators I’m sure.

Summer temps are soaring, sunflowers are blooming and it’s the perfect time to knit shawls and scarves. Donna B. brought her finished Choose Your Fade shawl by last week. She used numerous colors of our Chincoteague Cove Collection yarns to make this beautiful shawl.

Our sunflowers have been blooming for quite a while and now ripening. Calling all goldfinches!

Don’t forget that we have several Noro yarns on sale for just a bit longer – Kureyon ($5.00/ball), Silk Garden ($6.00/ball), Obi ($9.00/ball) and the lovely Elsebeth Lavold Cotton Patine ($3.00/ball).

Kathy brought a shawl she had knitted using our Harbor Collection yarn. The pattern is called Heaven and Space by Marina Behm and found on Ravelry.

Here’s a close-up of the pattern stitch:

And Jackie has a new pattern coming called Hedgerows which she showed off at Knit Knight along with Denise who was test knitting it for her. She used our Tides Gradient 6-PAK.

Just a note – we have posted 3 Noro yarns on sale on our website – Kureyon, Silk Garden and Obi – along with Elsebeth Lavold Cotton Patine. Prices are great. Take a look.

We find the little tree frogs everywhere – living in the handle of our sprinkling can to hunkered down in this lily flower.
