Knit Knight Show & Tell

Posted by Caroline Hershey

Knit KnightKnit Knight was a proud show and tell last night. Michelle and Ann both were wearing their socks they recently completed. Michelle had a pair of toe up socks, working two at a time, on her needles. She shared a tip with us that when knitting two socks at one time from one ball of yarn, she puts the ball of yarn in a ceramic bowl on the

floor and the ball of yarn seems to slide back and forth without the usual tangling of yarns. Ann was trying out the two socks at one time Colourscapes Scarfbut decided we were distracting her too much with all the chatter and she would try it at home. Debbie brought in the scarf she had completed out of the new Colourscapes yarn from Kaffee Fassett. Beautiful colorway # 432 with its subtle change from light to dark. The pattern is the Tainted Scarf pattern from the new Colourscapes book.

Love the pics of the finished socks! I like the ceramic bowl idea to hold the ball of yarn – I’ve tried it with a ziploc bag. . .with ok results.

    Details on the scarf:
Size 10 needles (I’m a loose knitter — the pattern called for size 10.5). One skein of the Colourscapes — decided it was big enough with just the one skein instead of the two it called for. Being a fan of everything Noro, I was prepared not to like the Colourscapes — but was pleasantly surprised at the thick, soft yarn that was unfolding in a beautiful colorway right at my fingertips. I would recommend this project and this yarn — perfect together.
