Knitted this with Ella Rae Shibu
This delightful shawl was a fast knit because the body is stockinette knitted with short rows. The leaf pattern is added when you are finished with the body. The pattern is a free pattern on Ravelry.

I worked feverishly to finish my shoulder bag before the workshop. Watching the NCAA basketball game into the wee hours helped keep me going so that it may have been still damp the next day but it was finished!
The pattern can be found in the Elsebeth Lavold Third Viking Knits Collection which seems to be in short supply. We are hoping the reprinting happens soon. The yarn is Silky Wool used double and slightly felted. It’s particularly neat because it uses her method of construction of cables in a small project.
Elsebeth teaching her cabling with mitered corners workshop.
Of course we couldn’t let Elsebeth and Anders get away from us without THE photo. It’s nice to be able to report that they are as delightful to be around, take classes from as they appear.
The crocus bud pattern was not working out for what I wanted to use it for (will find a lighter weight yarn for that lovely pattern), so moved on to the Falling Water pattern in Elsebeth
Lavold Bambool yarn. You can find this pattern as a free download on Ravelry. The yarn is soft, drapes beautifully for the scarf.

What a fun project to knit.
I used Elsebeth Lavold’s Silky Cashmere which is a delight to work with – softness plus some. The little cables were neat and no trouble at all. The two ruffled edges were a bit challenging because there were so many stitches (300+) as you can imagine to get the ruffling. As she said, a collar is a nice change from scarves.
Close up of the cables. As you can see, this yarn has a nice sheen to it also.
Working on a lace shawl and I’m wondering if my beads will show. Did I buy ones too small?
They are size 8 and what the pattern calls for so we’ll see. Sure going slowly. The yarn is Twisted Sisters silk yarn.
