There’s Morse Code Coming From my Washer

Posted by Caroline Hershey

Our washer is sending out morse code in the form of beeps. Did we leave something in a jean’s pocket, the cat’s trapped inside or what gives? Anyway, most disturbing if you’re trying to work out a pattern and the dots and dashes are coming at you. Where did we put that manual?

Look at this lovely shawl that Sue knitted using one of our Chincoteague Colors yarns. she said,  “It went together in a snap and the “nubs” were fun to learn and do. ” The shawl is Stormy Seas Shawl by Molly Burkart and can be found on Ravelry.

We were so tickled with the Great Egret that stopped by our little pond in the woods yesterday. Boy! Are they gorgeous!

Trying to finish my homework for SoXperience which begins tonight. YIKES! I’ll have to stand in the corner. Embarrassing!

Came across this little ditty at the Hampton Quilt Show. I’m sure they meant it for material, but it is very applicable to yarns.

“If I can’t remember where I put it, do I still have to count it as part of my stash?” Made me laugh. Also made me remember the time at the farm when I pulled the bread machine out from the wall to make bread and a ball of yarn rolled out from behind it. Never can guess where all the hiding places are.

Sky so blue on our beach walk last week. We saw Gannets out on the horizon, flying here and there. Large white birds which are spectacular. Wish I could get a picture however the camera equipment needed for that distance would cause a serious rift in wife/husband relationship. Watch for them when you go to the beach, large white birds with black wing tips on the horizon that you might mistake for gulls.

I’m enjoying the colors as they are developing in this shawl by Melanie Berg. It’s called Targetty and available on Ravelry. The yarn is Poems Sock, 75% wool/25% nylon.

The tundra swans have left. So enjoyed their calls and the large number that stayed the winter here made a spectacular show. What beautiful birds!
