Unique Knitting

Posted by Caroline Hershey

Birgitta has been entertaining us for literally years with her knitted characters. She will sit at Knit Knight with her knitting bag perched on her lap knitting away and every now and then pull out this perfectly delightful doll that she has created. Some are made with characteristics of people she knows for gifts and others are just whimsical creations. These two are for friends of hers. Don’t you just love them?

The marsh roses are blooming now. That’s what I call them and they come in colors from pinks to the white you see here. There are other names for them.

Cattle Egrets

Posted by Caroline Hershey

What fun to see the cattle egrets perching on the horses helping get rid of the flies that can plague them in hot weather. It is crazy to see these birds sitting on top the horses.

Denise knit this lovely shawl out of the Sunseeker yarn. Although she wasn’t thrilled with working with black yarn, the result is elegant with the little sparkles here and there in the yarn. The pattern can be found on Ravelry, Shawlette with Lace Pattern.

Gorgeous Sky

What an unusual cloud formation at Tom’s Cove. Needless to say high wind and whipping rain soon followed.

Kay’s baby blanket is so cute. She began in the center and there was a great gnashing of teeth as she proceeded with the blanket, around and around, and around. But what results! (it really is square, just the way it ended on the floor.)

These little guys populate the beach. I think Sandpiper.

I have been trying catch these Loons on film for a month or more. We were really surprised to see them still around however looking into it, we found that juvenile, non-breeding pairs will stick around all summer. We usually see them in March in the Chincoteague Channel at KnitXperience Lite. They are still getting their “looney” feathers.

He put on a little show taking a bath.
