We went in search of seaside goldenrod and thought we had found it. However on closer inspection, right color but wrong plant. This is sneezeweed which, contrary to its name does not cause one to sneeze. The name is based on the former use of its dried leaves in making snuff, inhaled to cause sneezing that would supposedly rid the boy of evil spirits.

Jackie brought this definitely clever bike bag to show at Knit Knight. The pattern is from Vogue Knitting by Norah Gaughan pattern number 35 titled Knitted Panniers. Issue is Winter 2004/2005. A few people have made it on Ravelry.

This shows one side and the photo below shows both sides. What a wonderful gift for her friend..

Recognize Tom’s Cove Campground across the water?

This is where we always look for the ponies to be grazing on Assateague. The ponies were moved before the storm hit.

And the beach was inhospitable because of the rough waves and sand blowing at painful speed.

On to a more comfortable topic. A fun hat I knit in a day called Clayoquot Toque from Tin Can Knits. I used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Baby yarn, one main and 2 contrasting colors.  The free pattern has sizes from newborn to large adult and can be found on Ravelry. What more could you ask for?DSCN3326
